SUMMER KNIGHT by Jim ButcherSUMMER KNIGHT by Jim Butcher
**** - Good, solid paranormal read

I went into this book feeling a bit burnt out on Mr. Butcher. I was absolutely in love with the characters, though, so I thought he deserved one more shot. And boy 'o boy I wasn't disappointed. If you've read any of my other reviews of the Dresden series by Jim Butcher then you might have picked up on how much I abhore the way that he writes female characters. They're either in need of saving (b/c to his main character Harry any woman in a bad situation is a woman in need of saving) or so piss-ass stubborn that there's no way for them to be likable.

Anyway, to make a long story short(er) there were very few of those annoying female characters in this book. I also adored the way that Jim created his fairy world and it's inhabitants. He made them at once deadly, silly, and beautiful from the small faeires that Dresden uses to get information from and who fight in the name of Pizza wearing thimbles for helmets to the overpoweringly awesome force of a Fae Queen.

Two thumbs up, Mr. Butcher. Keep writing them like this one!
